Ring Clear Bird Toy , Poop-Off, Cuttlebone (I like the larger size and do not use the metal holder) Many times the items will be in the store.
The Finch Connections:
www.thefinchconnections.com This on line store has many useful items for sale. That said I have purchased items that seemed like a good idea but after installing on the cage my birds would not use them. Like an exterior bath and plastic feeder with a catch pan. Tried it on 7 cages and groups of birds with no luck.
Here is a list of items I have used successfully with my canaries:
Bird cup feeder with plastic hook holder– works great for vegetables and fruit. http://www.thefinchconnections.com/parma-feeder-bird-cup-feeder-with-plastic-hook-holder/
**2 inch bird perch– The image on their site shows two perches, each order is for only one. These are great. We have approximately 3 to 4 in each cage. One is placed in the upper corner at the front of the cage. The birds seem to love to perch there and sing to us. Our joke is that they are “On Stage”. .http://www.thefinchconnections.com/2-inch-bird-perch/#reviews
Bird treat cuttlebone plastic holder with perch. These are great for cuttlebone and also for millet. We use 2 in each cage one for cuttlebone and the other for millet. 4 in the breeding cages. The perches are very handy.
Bathtub: this tub is a nice size and has a non-skid surface on the bottom. No scary mirror. http://www.thefinchconnections.com/bird-finch-canary-internal-cage-bathtub
Carrying Cage: Having a small cage to transport your bird, use as a hospital cage or to have a safe place to keep them while cleaning their main cage. http://www.thefinchconnections.com/songbird-cage
Swing: This the best swing around ½” diameter perch. http://woodlandbird.com/text/Perch.html
**Water Bottle: Wide Mouth Water Bottles are easier to clean: http://woodlandbird.com/text/Lixit.html
Be sure to offer another water option until you see your bird drink from this type of waterer. We use the 5 oz BB-5 model. Although that said I have a few birds that will not use it! This is a preferable water dispenser since the water cannot be contaminated with seed or droppings.
**You may have noticed in many of the photos a green waterer on all of the cages. This waterer is consistant. Always works. Wild Harvest Bird Tube Feeder—Ignore the feeder part. The seed gets blocked up in it. But it works great as a waterer on any cage. Made by 8in1 and sold at WalMart for $1.22.
**Note: These items may not fit on cages with horizontal bars.
